Pianist Evren Ozel began his musical studies at age three in his hometown of Minneapolis. The winner of numerous honors and awards including scholarships from the U.S. Chopin Foundation and Young Arts Foundation, he most recently received second prize and special prizes for Best Mazurka and Best Polonaise at the 2020 U.S. National Chopin Competition securing the honor of representing the U.S.A. in the 2021 International Chopin Competition in Warsaw, Poland. An avid chamber musician, Ozel has participated in festival across the United States.

Three Steps to Getting a Summer Music Scholarship

RECORD
Record yourself playing two contrasting classical music pieces.

UPLOAD
Upload recording to a media sharing site (Youtube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc). You will be sharing the link to the recording in the form below.

SUBMIT
Fill out and submit the form below by June 1, 2022. The winners will be notified by June 12, 2022.
Student Eligibility
Matinee Musicale announces the availability of Summer Music Scholarships. The applicant must be entering grades 7-12 in the fall and reside in the Duluth/Superior area. Applicants, their parents, or their teacher do not need to be a season ticket holder of Matinee Musicale.
Scholarships will be presented to qualified students to help offset the cost of Summer Music Camp tuition or summer music studies. The scholarships for tuition are awarded up to a maximum of $175.00.
Applications must be submitted online or postmarked by June 1, 2021.
CDs will be returned only if a self-addressed,
stamped mailer is included with the application.
Winners will be notified by June 12, 2022.
