ABOUT THE TICKET COORDINATOR POSITION

The ticket coordinator is responsible for working with Matinee Musicale volunteers and the Executive Director to support Matinee Musicale’s ticketing operations for concerts and special events.

ABOUT MATINEE MUSICALE

Matinee Musicale seeks to enrich the cultural life of Duluth through concerts of world class chamber music, music education, community outreach, and providing scholarships. Founded in 1900, Matinee Musicale currently presents four visiting artists concerts each season, scheduled to increase to five concerts in 2026-27. It also presents an annual College Awards Concert and spring fundraising events, as well as various masterclasses and community outreach concerts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate and maintain subscription and individual ticket sales updates to Matinee Musicale’s ticketing platform, currently TicketSpice.

• Monitor and support the effective use of the devices used for scanning and sales of tickets.

• Oversee day-of-event tickets sales. This role requires being physically present for Matinee Musicale visiting artist concerts and the Tempo With a Twist fundraising event.

• Prepare the post-concert attendance summary.

• Check and respond to the Matinee Musicale ticketing email address at least weekly.

• It is estimated that each concert requires 2-3 hours of time on the concert day plus 3-4 hours pre- and post-concert for set-up and record keeping - adding up to approximately 35-40 hours for the season. In addition, updating and maintaining the ticketing platform is estimated to take an additional 30 hours across the season for an estimated total of 70 hours annually.

 

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• The ideal candidate will have previous ticketing experience, be comfortable using computer technology and have enthusiasm for classical music.
   

COMPENSATION

This position is part-time, hourly, non-exempt and pays $20/hr.​
